Special Education

In the field of education, there is no greater challenge, nor more rewarding experience, than successfully meeting the needs of Special Education students. In the past, many Special Education students simply were lost in the system, either sent out of district in segregated settings or left adrift to find their own way, or even to drop out of school. Today, under new legal mandates, school districts are seeking creative solutions to provide more inclusive programs for the students. IEP offers such innovative approaches to teaching special education students in inclusive education settings that provide a seamless education from pre-school intervention through high school graduation.

Transformation and Turnaround

Research shows, and our experience proves it,  that successful school turnaround must include flexibility, strong leadership, professional development, capacity building, extended school and learning time, community involvement and beyond. IEP proposes a transformation and turnaround intervention model based on the research-based Project CHILD® 21st Century instructional model. The CHILD model exemplifies the turnaround principles and meaningful interventions and is designed to improve the academic achievement of students in persistently low-achieving schools. The ultimate goal for IEP’s turnaround model is to help schools create more effective teachers and more successful learners. This transformational model is based upon the assumption that schools can be restructured to meet the educational and technological needs of the 21st century learner.

Academic Enrichment and Supplementary Education

IEP presents an Academic Enrichment or Supplemental Educational Service (SES) program with a specialty in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics. We provide effective before, during or after-school instruction to those students who need it most. We work in schools large and small, in urban and suburban areas. We develop programs for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Most importantly, we have a record of success and a roster of parents, teachers and principals who see students succeed and thrive thanks to IEP\’s innovative educational programs.

Theme Schools

IEP\’s Theme School Programs include Theme Schools, Magnet Schools, Charter Schools, and Alternative Schools. The basic program designs allow for “customized” modifications to meet the needs and interests of each school and its site-based management committee.

Alternative Education

We provide  a series of programs aimed at offering an alternative to traditional school programs. Over the years, alternative schools have been assumed to be places where disruptive students can be warehoused “until they have learned their lesson”. While IEP does run schools for disruptive youth, our schools are nothing like the warehouses of old. We believe that these students are excluded from their traditional school “as punishment”, but they are not sent to us “for punishment”.
